Graphics are decent. Everything is sorta tiny, but overall, it's not bad. The board layouts are pretty bland though.

I didn't like the metallica midis at all. It didn't fit the game.

Story
|
|
Decent
|
|
|
There's not a lot of backstory. I didn't get the part about the main character being controlled by the fates, then suddenly, not. It didn't make any sense, so for a demo, I'd say this is average. However, I did like the personalities of the other characters. Thus, story gets bumped to 6.5.

I didn't have a lot of fun playing this, I'm sorry to say. The music was annoying, I was sorta confused, and the game ends abuptly when you die. The fades take forever to load and the mwin, although it says SPACE, takes about 10 presses to advance. Thus, when I died, I had no desire to start it back up and play again.

Stability

Good

The game is somewhat stable, but it's odd that time stops when you swing your sword and that enemies hit you when they aren't facing you or even near you. Also, on the TKZ version (which is a different size than the expo one) I got to one of the training boards and it was all black and the enemies weren't all moving and I got hit with no one around me and died. I'd say, stability is a 6.5.

I'd say this is about average length. The lag in the systems and fades make the game feel a lot longer than it really is.

Hope the review doesn't sound too harsh. Overall, this is a good start, but there's a lot of polishing that needs done.
Fix the swinging bug so time doesn't stop. Fix your mwins to not show the 'SPACE' diamond until you can actually push SPACE to advance the mwin. Allow the player to restart the Demo where they died instead of starting all over. Fix the bugs with the enemies hitting you from farther away than they visually should be able to.
Also, it was frustrating that when I stand directly in front of the spider or diagonal from it, neither time does my sword actually touch it, but I can only deal damage from the front. But you don't know this unless you stare at the enemy health bar. you should add some visual indicator that the sword is doing damage.
Good luck and looking forward to playing your future demos.

I haven't tried this demo/game yet but while reading your ratings noticed that some of the stability problems you posted are what I usually get running any tk game in Vista. Maybe running the game in XP will speed up the lags/fades/attacks.
I know that when running fade effects in my game on my VISTA it's very slow. On XP on the other hand runs at the speed I would expect it to.

my OS is XP. When I tried to make fades work in the past, I got the same slow speed, which is why my games don't have fades.

I added an option in my game to turn on and off the fade effects. So if they don't work for your system you can turn them off.
My XP installation is 32bit running in VMWARE on my Vista pc. I get no speed issues with fades in the XP VM. I have still yet to try this because my bandwidth sucks right now (11kbps) would take a little while to download it.
