Graphics are pretty solidly consistent. I'm not a huge fan of everyone having the spiky anime hair, but it's done consistently. I wish there were more profile expressions and hope the other characters will have them as well. I really love the enemy designs

The music was pretty good. Standard RPG. Looking forward to hearing the new tracks from Juice. The sound effects are nice.

The story was pretty weak. I have no clue who Ryuu is or why he's so annoyed at Xavier. I will attribute this to being a demo and assume in the final version there will be more exposition to the story. For a demo, it works though.

This is a pretty standard RPG style game. I could win every battle, except the boss battles, by just attacking and since HP/MP refill after each battle, every battle was identical, so that didn't add a lot of fun. The menu resets too much, especially when assigning EXP. It should remain in the stat selection window until the user cancels, otherwise the user has to keep pressing the same combo of buttons to get back. When fighting two enemies and you kill the top one, when you try to attack the bottom one, you have to press DOWN to target it. This should be automatic since all those DOWN presses add up over the course of the game.

This is about a 6.5. The character walks too slowly I think. Trying to walk down some of the stairs was difficult too. I kept getting stuck and attacked by enemies every step. I also think your menu is a nice start, but you need to tweak it a lot more and remove unnecessary button pressing. There was also the issue of the game locking up before the first battle. Luckily Shao figured out which prg file I had to edit to get it to work. I think the chests should have a graphic to indicate they have been opened. Overall, for a TK game, the stability was good, but since the game looked fairly polished from the outside, it made some of the various minor glitches be more obvious.

Overall this is a solid framework for a game. Add some more story, mix up the enemies, optimize the menus to reduce the number of button presses, and balance the battles so you can't win every one by holding down the A button the entire time and this should be an outstanding game.
This may have been asked before, but why is the game window so small? it's hard to read sometimes and kinda detracts from the 'immersion' factor.
I don't know why you chose to use a blocky font for the "VICTORY" text at the top of the post-battle screen. The rest of the graphics are nice and smooth so the blocky text feels really out of place.
What was the difference between the red and blue fades for battles?
Anyway, I can tell a TON of work went into this. I hope you keep working on it since I would love to play the completed game.
Thanks

Forgot to add, overall I think this Demo is a 7.5 to 8.0 out of 10, no matter what the scores above average out to.
And Audio should have been a 7, not a 6. arg.
